Ingredients

Scale

For the Tart Shells:

  • 12 pre-made mini tart shells (store-bought or homemade)

For the Chocolate Ganache Filling:

  • 6 oz (170g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Toppings:

  • Fresh fruit: raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, or kiwi slices
  • Edible gold leaf (optional)
  • Valentine’s-themed sprinkles or edible glitter
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ganache:
    • Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming but not boiling.
    • Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth and glossy.
    • Stir in the butter and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  2. Fill the Tart Shells:
    • Spoon or pipe the chocolate ganache into the pre-made tart shells, filling them almost to the top.
    • Smooth the surface with the back of a spoon if necessary.
  3. Decorate the Tartlets:
    • Arrange fresh fruit on top of each tartlet, creating colorful combinations.
    • Add Valentine’s-themed sprinkles, edible glitter, or gold leaf for a festive touch.
    • Optional: Add a dollop of whipped cream to each tartlet for added elegance.
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Place the tartlets in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to set the ganache.
    • Serve chilled and enjoy these delightful treats!

Notes

  • Customize the fruit topping to suit your preferences or the season.
  • For a nutty twist, sprinkle crushed pistachios or almonds on top.
  • If making tart shells from scratch, use a buttery shortcrust pastry for the best flavor.
