Ingredients
Scale
For the Dough:
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Toppings:
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup halal-certified pepperoni slices
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, then knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- Assemble the Pizza:
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, followed by halal pepperoni slices. Add oregano and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake the Pizza:
- Carefully transfer the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Serve:
- Let the pizza cool for a minute or two before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
