Description

This Grilled Tuna Steaks with Zesty Lemon Vinaigrette recipe is a light, healthy, and flavorful dish perfect for seafood lovers. The tuna is perfectly seared on the grill, creating a smoky crust while staying tender and juicy inside. Paired with a bright, tangy lemon vinaigrette, it’s an elegant yet easy meal for weeknight dinners or summer cookouts.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Tuna Steaks:

  • 4 fresh tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Lemon Vinaigrette:

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey (optional, for balance)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley or dill, chopped
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna Steaks:
    • Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
    • Rub each steak with olive oil and season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Make the Lemon Vinaigrette:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, honey (if using), salt, and pepper until emulsified. Set aside.
  3. Preheat the Grill:
    • Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the Tuna Steaks:
    • Place the tuna steaks on the hot grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your preferred level of doneness.
    • Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let them rest for a minute.
  5. Assemble and Serve:
    • Drizzle the lemon vinaigrette over the grilled tuna steaks. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Use fresh, high-quality tuna steaks for the best flavor and texture.
  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the seasoning or vinaigrette.
  • Serve with a side of grilled vegetables, a crisp salad, or wild rice.
