Description

This Garlic Parmesan Roasted Asparagus is a quick, healthy, and flavorful side dish that pairs perfectly with any meal. Tender-crisp asparagus spears are coated in garlic, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese, then roasted to golden perfection. Perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant gatherings, this dish is a crowd-pleaser every time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the Asparagus:
    • Wash the asparagus and trim off the tough ends. Place the asparagus spears in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Season the Asparagus:
    • Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil. Sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat the spears evenly.
  4. Add Parmesan:
    • Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese evenly over the asparagus.
  5. Roast to Perfection:
    • Roast the asparagus in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until tender-crisp and the Parmesan is golden.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with lemon zest if desired. Serve immediately as a side dish to your favorite main course.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the asparagus for 1–2 minutes at the end of roasting.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or stovetop.
