Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (for tang)
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- In a bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Toss the chicken pieces in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same pan, add the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey (if using), and rice vinegar. Stir well and bring the sauce to a simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Add the cooked chicken back into the pan and toss it in the sweet chili sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve:
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside rice.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness and spice of the sauce by adding more honey for sweetness or more chili sauce for heat.
- You can bake the chicken bites instead of frying for a lighter option. Just coat them in the flour mixture and bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes or until crispy.
