Description

Biscuits and Gravy is a beloved Southern comfort food that makes every breakfast special. This easy homemade recipe features warm, flaky biscuits generously topped with creamy sausage gravy.

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Cold Butter
  • Milk
  • Breakfast Sausage
  • Freshly Cracked Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in milk until just combined; avoid over-mixing.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently 2-3 times, then pat into an inch-thick round shape. Cut out biscuit rounds.
  5. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While biscuits bake, cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir before gradually adding milk until thickened.
  7. Serve biscuits split open with gravy ladled on top.
