Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • rose gold luster dust
  • pink food coloring gel

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round 8-inch baking pans and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together cake flour and baking powder. Gradually incorporate into the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just mixed.
  5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks. Once cool, frost with buttercream and dust with rose gold luster dust.
