Ingredients
- Grape leaves (jarred or canned)
- Long grain rice
- Ground lamb or beef
- Onion
- Fresh dill and parsley
- Lemon juice
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Soak dried grape leaves in warm water; rinse jarred leaves under cold water.
- Sauté finely chopped onions in olive oil until golden brown, then add ground meat and cook until browned.
- Mix in uncooked rice, chopped herbs, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional spices; cook for 5 minutes until fragrant.
- Place a tablespoon of filling on each grape leaf and roll tightly from stem to tip.
- Arrange rolls seam-side down in a pot, cover with water, drizzle with olive oil, and place a plate on top to keep submerged.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes until rice is tender.
