Description

Homemade Apple Butter Delight is a luscious, spiced spread that captures the essence of fall, ideal for toast, oatmeal, or as a delightful gift.


Ingredients

  • 45 Fuji or Honeycrisp apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
  2. In a large pot, combine chopped apples, water, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and salt.
  3. Simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes until the apples are soft.
  4. Allow to cool slightly and blend until smooth or to desired consistency.
  5. Return the mixture to the pot and simmer uncovered for 30-45 minutes until thickened.
  6. Transfer to sterilized jars while hot; seal and cool completely.
