Ingredients

  • Ground beef or lamb
  • Onion
  • Carrots
  • Frozen peas
  • Garlic
  • Mashed potatoes (preferably Yukon Gold)
  • Chicken broth
  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Dried thyme & oregano
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Chop onion, carrots, and garlic.
  2. Sauté vegetables: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; cook until fragrant. Then add carrots and peas until tender.
  3. Brown the meat: Stir in ground beef or lamb; cook until browned.
  4. Create filling: Add chicken broth, soy sauce, thyme, and oregano. Simmer until thickened.
  5. Make mashed potatoes: Boil peeled potatoes until fork-tender, then mash with butter and cream.
  6. Assemble: Spread meat mixture in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes. Create peaks with a fork.
  7. Bake: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
