Description

Savor these hearty halal meatball subs, filled with juicy meatballs and zesty marinara sauce, all nestled in warm, crusty rolls—perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or chicken (high-quality halal)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (ensure it's halal)
  • 4 crusty sub rolls

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef or chicken, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 inch) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; sear meatballs until browned on all sides (about 5 minutes).
  4. Pour marinara sauce over meatballs and let simmer for 20 minutes until cooked through.
  5. While simmering, slice open sub rolls and toast under the broiler until golden brown.
  6. Assemble by filling each toasted roll with 3-4 meatballs and spoon additional marinara sauce on top.
