Description

Delight in the warmth of our halal chicken pot pie, featuring a flaky crust and a creamy filling that promises comfort and flavor. Perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

  • Boneless halal chicken thighs
  • Frozen peas and carrots
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • All-purpose flour
  • Low-sodium chicken broth
  • Heavy cream
  • Pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • Dried thyme and rosemary
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook briefly.
  2. Add bite-sized boneless halal chicken thighs along with frozen peas and carrots, cooking until chicken is no longer pink (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mixture to thicken. Gradually pour in low-sodium chicken broth while stirring until smooth.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, season with thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Simmer until bubbly and thickened (3-5 minutes).
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out one pie crust into a dish, pour in the filling, top with another crust, crimp edges to seal.
  6. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape; bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
