Description

This Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Dill recipe is a light, flavorful dish perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. The salmon is marinated with a zesty lemon and fresh dill mixture, then grilled to perfection for a smoky, flaky texture. This healthy and elegant meal pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, dill, garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Marinate the Salmon:
    • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
    • Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the Grill:
    • Heat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the Salmon:
    • Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard any excess. Place the fillets skin-side down on the grill.
    • Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Serve:
    • Transfer the salmon to a serving platter, garnish with fresh dill and lemon wedges, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, add wood chips to the grill.
  • If grilling isn’t an option, bake the salmon in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  • Serve with a side of steamed asparagus or wild rice for a complete meal.
