Ingredients

  • Granulated Sugar
  • Salt
  • Cold Water
  • Granny Smith Apples
  • Cinnamon
  • Lemon Juice
  • Egg Wash (Egg and Milk)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add cold water gradually until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Make the Filling: Peel and slice apples thinly. Combine with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a bowl until well coated.
  3. Roll Out Dough: On a floured surface, roll chilled dough to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into 4-inch circles.
  4. Assemble Hand Pies: Place 1-2 tablespoons of filling on one half of each circle. Fold over and crimp edges with a fork.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
