Description

These Crispy Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic Glaze are a perfect side dish that’s full of flavor! Roasting Brussels sprouts brings out their natural sweetness while creating a crispy texture. A tangy balsamic glaze drizzled over the top adds a beautiful depth of flavor. This recipe is simple, healthy, and an excellent way to enjoy Brussels sprouts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Prepare the Brussels Sprouts:
    • Trim the stems of the Brussels sprouts and slice them in half.
    • Place them in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss to coat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
  • Roast the Brussels Sprouts:
    • Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut side down.
    • Roast for 20-25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  • Prepare the Balsamic Glaze:
    • While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, in a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey or maple syrup.
    • Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens into a glaze.
  • Assemble and Serve:
    • Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted to perfection, remove them from the oven and drizzle with the balsamic glaze.
    • Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for an extra layer of flavor.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a sweeter glaze, increase the amount of honey or maple syrup.
  • For extra crunch, you can sprinkle some crushed nuts (like pecans or walnuts) over the Brussels sprouts before serving.
  • This recipe can be made ahead and reheated in the oven for a few minutes to retain the crispy texture.
